Hello,
Inforad builds and distributes radar warning systems. The software
inside their communicating products is based on a linux kernel, busybox
and various other GPL licensed products. There is no indication of the
GPL inside/outside of the box or on their website.
The allegedly infringing products are Inforad CI
(http://inforad.net/inforad/products-inforad-CI-0.html) and Inforad
Smart (http://inforad.net/inforad/products-inforad-SMART-0.html)
I contacted them on the 17th of May 2013 asking for the sources of both
the linux kernel they are using and busybox. I also pointed them to
http://www.gpl-violations.org/faq/sourcecode-faq.html.
On the 31th of May 2013, I have got the answer that their sources are
coming from the maker of the chipset and they are verifying which
obligations they have.
On the 18th of June 2013, I asked them if they had got the informations
they wanted. The reply I got is that the sources were delivered by SiRF
and they were still verifying their obligations.
On the 29th of July 2013, I asked them again if they had news for me.
This message has not been answered yet.
So after 3 months, they failed to deliver any GPL source code they use
in their product.
The "firmware" they are using is available at
http://inforadci.com/public/Cx_u_240067.tar
Best Regards
